On May 10 the opening ceremony of the 3rd Silk Road Education Cooperation Forum was held in Xi'an. Mikko Naukkarinen, Vice President of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and 5 delegates from vocational education colleges from Khabarovsk, Russia, were invited to attend the event by XVTC. On May 11 the guests visited the campus of XVTC and received a warm reception from President Zhang Cun, Vice President Xi Shangjun and Vice President Zhao Yunlong.
The guests were impressed by the construction and practical training facilites of XVTC after visiting the Medical School labs, the treasury of the Wenjinge copy “Si Ku Quan Shu” (Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature) in Yizhi Library, the National Culture and Art Museum, the Automobile School, practical training facilities in the Practical Training Building and the Comprehensive Teaching Building, as well as the airplane cabin simulator in the School of Finance and Economics.
A meeting, hosted by Vice President Xi Shangjun, was held after the visit, where President Zhang Cun gave a brief introduction to the history, location, development strategy, campus construction, faculty cultivation, majors, admissions and students' employment, college-enterprise cooperation, academic research, international cooperation, etc. of the college and expressed his hope to further promote the cooperation between XVTC and colleges and universities in countries along the Silk Road such as Finland and Russia based on the opportunity of the Silk Road Education Cooperation Forum.
After express their admiration of the accomplishment in international exchange and cooperation XVTC had achieved, the guests introduced their schools. Cooperation programs including faculty professional training, student/teacher exchange, skills competition were discussed. President Zhang Cun signed cooperation agreement with Lobacheva Larisa from Hero of the Soviet Union Dmitrii Kalarash Regional State Budgetary Professional Educational Institution Khabarovsk Pedagogical College.
