On June 5 the Volunteer Oath-Taking Rally of the 16th Shaanxi Provincial Games and the Inauguration Ceremony of the XVTC Stadium was held in the newly built stadium. The ceremony was organized by the Xianyang Municipal Party Committee of CPC and the Xianyang Municipal People's Government, and co-organized by Xianyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and Xianyang Vocational and Technical College.
Zou Jun, Deputy Director of the Sports Bureau of Shaanxi Province, Lu Zhen, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, Liu Wanbin, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of the Provincial Higher Education Department, Wei Hua, Mayor of Xianyang City, Sun Yazheng, Deputy Mayor of Xianyang City, Chen Wanfeng, Deputy Chairman of Xianyang Poeple's Political Consultative Committee and Director of Xianyang Public Security Bureau, Liu Congbo, Party Secretary of XVTC and Zhang Cun, President of XVTC attended the ceremony. More than 5,000 people witnessed the event, including administrators of the Office of the Xianyang Municipal Party Committee, the Office of the Xianyang Municipal People's Government, the Propaganda Department of the Xianyang Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Civilization Office, the Xianyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Xianyang Municipal Education Bureau, and the Xianyang Arrangement Committee of the 16th Shaanxi Provincial Games, representatives of the Volunteer Work Department and 11 Xianyang-based colleges and volunteers.
Ma Junmin, Deputy Director of the Xianyang Arrangement Committee of the 16th Shaanxi Provincial Games, Standing Committee of the Xianyang Municipal Committee, and Director of the Propaganda Department of the Xianyang Municipal Party Committee, hosted the ceremony, where he expressed his sincere gratitude to the volunteers and congratulations for the inauguration of the stadium to XVTC.
After the volunteers took their oath to serve the 16th Shaanxi Provincial Games wholeheartedly, the leaders granted volunteer flags to the representatives.
Wei Hua, the mayor of Xianyang City, announced the inauguration of the stadium and the launch of volunteer service of the 16th Shaanxi Provincial Games.
In his address Zhang Cun made a brief introduction to the construction of the stadium which would host some events and the closing ceremony of the 16th Shaanxi Provincial Games. "With close cooperation with the Arrangement Committee and meticulous preparation, XVTC will make every effort to ensure a smooth and successful Provincial Games,” Zhang said. It is known that the stadium would be open for the public after the Provincial Games.
