International teacher and students of XVTC celebrated Mid-Autumn Day

On September 12th, a day before Mid-Autumn Day, Devanand Nagessar, the international teacher as well as international students of XVTC had a party together, which was co-held by both the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation and the College of International Education. They celebrated the Chinese traditional festival by eating moon cakes, apprecating Chinese classical poems and learning Chinese traditional customs. Vice President Wu Xujin, Director of the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation and the College of International Education Wei Wenping, as well as interntaional students’teachers attended the celebration.

The faculty and students watched the publicity video of XVTC, learned Mid-Autumn Day culture and traditions through a lecture given by one of their teachers, and then read Chinese classic poems about the moon and the festival.

“When is the moon full and bright? Raising my wineglass, I ask thedarkblue sky. Tonight in the palaces and halls of heaven what year is it, I wonder?”Singing the classic poem of Su Shi, both the faculty and students enjoyed themselves.

On behalf of the college, Vice President Wu Xujin sentmooncakes as well asthe best wishesto the International teacher and students. She said,“Hope you feel at home in XVTC and don’t be homesick, especially in this Chinese traditional holiday of family reunion.”International students expressed their gratitude to XVTC and also their determination to work hard in their Chinese learning.
