Chinese President Xi Jinpinghas encouraged overseas students at Peking University to gain a deeper understanding ofChinaas it really is, urging them to share their thoughts and experiences with more people and play an active role in promoting friendship between the peoples of all countries.
In his reply letter to 45 representatives of overseas students studying at Peking University, Xiwrote"To understand today'sChina, one must understand the CPC. You mentioned that the CPC has committed itself to developing the economy, eradicating poverty and actively assisting other countries in fighting COVID-19," said Xi. "The CPC is committed to these aims because it is a political party that strives for both the well-being of the Chinese people and human progress."
Devanand Nagessar fromUnited States of America, who is now teaching at Xianyang Vocatonal and Technical College, expressed his feeling after reading Prsident Xi's letter. Nagessar said, "In regards to president Xi's letter, I firmly believe in his stance thatChinais doing everything it can to help both Chinese and foreign citizens of the world. Living inChinafor years, I have experienced first hand its development and prosperity. I hope other leading nations will continue to cooperate withChinaon global matters so that we may all live in a more harmonious world. Together, there is no limit to what may be accomplished."
