In order to promote education internationalization, cultivating internationalized educaters and educational management personnels, 12 teachers and teaching management personnels from different secondary schools in Xianyang Vocational and Technical College participated in the "Singapore Teacher Capacity Improvement Project" during the summer vacation from July 16 to August 20.
The program was jointly organized and implemented by the China Institute for International Education Exchange and Training and public universities inSingapore. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this program was held via live streaming online every Friday morning.
The project offers an outstanding teaching team composed of senior lecturers and management personnels from public universities including National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University,SingaporeManagement University, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and National Institute of Education.
Lectures were conducted in simple and profound ways, discussing topics such as the combination of higher education and economic industrial ecology, efficient team building and cross-cultural human resource management, the development philosophy of vocational education in Singapore and institutional management experience, continuation and expansion of integrated vocational education across colleges, the concept of lifelong learning and the mission of vocational colleges and etc.
Getting a profound and deepened understanding of vocational education inSingaporeas well as the latest development of international education, the trainees not only expanded their international vision, but also improved their international ability and optimized their knowledge structure.
The trainees, who finished the course, will be rewarded certificates from both the China Institute for International Education Exchange and Training and the National Institute of Education ofSingapore. They said that the implementation of this project would play a positive role in not only promoting teacher's teaching ability, but also the "Double High" project (High-level Higher Vocational Schools and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics Construction Project) and the "Quality Improvement and Excellence Cultivation" project.
